Piñón Colorado (Jatropha gossypiifolia)

About the plant

Piñón colorado (Jatropha gossypiifolia) is the 'red' relative of piñón blanco, same genus Jatropha (Euphorbiaceae). A shrub with reddish foliage and a more 'fiery' energy in traditional reading. Distributed in American tropics. Traditionally used for inflammation, skin problems, as a cleansing remedy.

Properties and use

In traditional and retreat descriptions piñón colorado goes as a plant of intense cleansing and restoration of strength through the physical layer: joints, inflammation, skin, pain. The theme of cleansing from heavy layers and returning dense life energy; the feeling that the body is being reassembled into the correct form.

Use in dietas

Dieta with piñón colorado is often chosen when a 'fiery' cleansing at the level of body and energy is needed — after illness, trauma, prolonged stress. The plant is felt as stricter and more intense than piñón blanco. Guidance only by an experienced maestro.

Precautions

Like piñón blanco, J. gossypiifolia contains toxic and purgative components. Do not use without maestro guidance; contraindicated in pregnancy and severe conditions.
