Marosa (Pfaffia iresinoides)

About the plant

Marosa (Pfaffia iresinoides) is a shrub in the amaranth family (Amaranthaceae). In Shipibo tradition it is called 'little mother' (Mamasita) and onanyati rao — shaman plant. Outwardly unremarkable: thin leaves, tiny white flowers; the plant spirit is described as a powerful feminine, maternal one.

Properties and use

Marosa is used to heal wounded femininity and heart: trauma related to lack of love, feeling abandoned, violence, broken heart. Its image is care, acceptance, restoration of boundaries and a sense of safety in relationship with self and world.

Use in dietas

Marosa dieta is recommended when what is needed is not 'boa strength' but gentle support and working through emotional wounds. The plant teaches self-compassion, opens the heart, and helps release old attachments to toxic scenarios. Often dieted by women, but not only: the theme of the maternal line and inner mother is relevant for any gender.

Precautions

Contraindications are general for dietas. Marosa is not a strong purgative; nevertheless the dieta should be guided by a maestro, especially when there is severe trauma.
